Blake Aches

Blake's got a tooth ache. As in, he's teething. This means his sleeping is irregular and he's a little more fussy than usual. But being that he's a really mellow baby, it's not too bad.

And because I can't get a picture of the tooth popping through (on the bottom, by the way, and difficult to see), this cute snapshot will have to do. Yes, that's a tube of baby Orajel he's chewing on -- handy in more ways than one.

And did I mention Blake's irregular sleeping pattern? I took this pic Sunday night. Late Sunday night. The caption here: Wide Awake Blake.

When his tooth -- or teeth -- comes in a little more, I'll snap a pic of what's bound to be Blake's great grin.

At the end of the day, we're all surviving this new transition pretty well... definitely more than by the skin of our teeth.

That's How I Roll

Check my Mom out: her first video of me. Okay, forget about Mom and her accomplishments (duh, Mom, it's 2010, you should know how to shoot and upload video by now!). What you really need to check out is my new accomplishments. I finally learned how to roll over a little more than a week ago, and now I do it all the time.

I also am starting to sit up on my own, although only a few minutes at a time. But that's cool because it only takes a few seconds for Mom to snap a picture.

From sitting up to spitting up, from rolling to rice cereal, from giggling to grabbing, and from cooing to even coughing, when it comes to learning new things, you could definitely say I'm on a (literal) roll.

Extra Innings, Extra Fun

Blake went to his first MLB game Saturday, and he's pretty spoiled. We had 10th row seats, not far behind the 3rd baseline. Here's the official family photo.

Speaking of official, the Giants give out official certificates for first-timers. Check this out. Oh yeah, it's going in the official Blake baby book.

We traveled to the game by boat. Not from Sacramento (duh!). We drove to Larkspur to hook up with our friends the DeBisschops. That's where we hopped on a ferry. It was Blake's 2nd ever boat ride, and as you know, he's all about the boats these days.

The weather was perfect: sunny and cool. That was a great combo because Blake had to be mostly covered with clothes or a blanket from head to toe (we wanted to avoid yet another baby sunburn). Success!

He may have been a little sleepy, but for the most part, he loved the game. And the weather wasn't the only awesome part; the game itself was spectacular. The Giants fell behind early, but came back to win in the bottom of the 11th. Each team got its fair share of hits, walks, and runs, but even still -- that's what I call a perfect game.

I'm On A Boat

Blake's got his flippy-floppies and is ready to roll out on the river! Last Sunday, we took Blake out on a boat with some friends. We suited him up in a little lifejacket, but he didn't love it. Who does love those things anyway?

He was much happier chillin' on my lap. Now all we need are some Blake-sized sunglasses...
