3 BLOGS FOR THE PRICE OF 1

All In The Family

Blake had never met his cousins until this summer. Remember the family wedding back in June? (See http://blakethebaby.blogspot.com/2011/07/lifes-beach.html) His cousins from Virginia came all the way out to California for the occasion. They even got to stay the whole summer. Here are some fun pics to illustrate what a good time Blake had with them. We look forward to more visits from our Virginia family in the future.

Blake's New Do

This blog is about another big first: Blake's first proper hair cut at a proper salon for kids. Blake did great! He got to sit in a fun toy car, play with a lot of new toys and experience some new sights and sounds. He only made some nervous noises when the nice haircut lady brought out the clippers. There were no tears. Except from me. The curls are gone (for now), and my boy looks so grown up. Seriously, the new do aged Blake by at least a few months or years. I almost feel obligated to change the name of this blog. He really no longer is Blake the baby, as you're about to see. I only took about a bazillion photos so take a look at my kiddo's new look.

Here's the Before Picture

GIANTS' JITTERS!

We're heading into a critical time of year: MLB playoffs. And Blake is starting to realize this year may not end up like the last. As Ryan always says, Blake was born and then the Giants won their first SF World Series. Coincidence? Maybe not. Blake brought good luck to the team. They won the first 4 games he attended. For those of you keeping score, Blake is now 4-2. Blake got to ride BART over to this past Saturday's game. Despite the look on his face in this picture, he was super excited on the train.

Too bad that fast-paced momentum on the train came to a screeching halt at AT&T.

Maybe Blake's new panda hat will bring the Giants some much-needed magic?

(He still has a worried look. Good luck Giants!)

Blake At The Lake

Blake has discovered the squirt bottle. He knows how to point it at people, how to pull the trigger, even how to drink from it. Watch out, people. The boy has aim.

Bodega Blake

Our 3rd annual camping trip (Blake's 2nd) took us back to Bodega Bay. Unfortunately this year, Ryan couldn't go. I felt like a single Mom! The silver lining was that I took tons of pictures, so we could share our fun with Daddy when we got back. Now, I share them with the rest of you. Enjoy.

Too Busy to Blog

Right after Blake was born, I was busy. Busy learning how to help a baby fall asleep, busy learning how much to feed him, busy doing all kinds of laundry, busy squeezing in visitors, busy learning how to be a Mom. As it turns out, I didn't know what busy was.

Blake is now 1, and the older he gets, the busier I stay. You parents out there know what I mean. Blake never used to open every cabinet and pull out all his clothes or my dishes. Blake didn't used to wander into the backyard when I looked away for 30 seconds, and Blake certainly never climbed up on coffee tables before.

So, once again I'll try to catch you up with pictures. Pictures, which only begin to capture our summer activities. Playing with Blake is definitely a full-time busy-ness.

Blake is no longer just a social climber. He's a furniture climber, also.

This was our friend Kirk's attempt at entertaining Blake, which worked for about 15 minutes. Papa would be proud.

By the way, Blake faces forward now in the carseat!

Blake will probably be embarassed one day that I posted this pic. But sometimes he's just so flippin' cute in the bath.

Blake being silly at a River Cats game.

This is Blake on the 4th of July. Thanks to his Auntie Paula for taking such a great pic.

Blake had fun in the Macy's mirrors. He gave the "other little boy" a lot of fist bumps.

This was Blake's first time on my parents' speed boat. Uneasy at first, but then he liked it!

What's up dude?

Still to come.... camping! Look for another blog next time I'm not too busy.

Life's A Beach

Tahoe is one of mine and Ryan's favorites places. You can ski, hike, gamble, go to the beach, eat well, and most importantly, relax. What a perfect setting to take Blake to his first wedding. Blake got a new Aunt, and we're so excited Heather is an official Becker!

By the way, how cute is Blake? Not only was this his first wedding, but this was his first time wearing a tie.

Earlier in the day, we cruised down to the water. As usual, Blake didn't like the cold or the waves (it was windy). But we did enjoy putting our toes in the warm Tahoe sand.

Warm weather, smooth sand, and Blake's baby boy feet... all enough to make any Mom smile.
